Front Line Assembly released their
Caustic Grip album in 1990. It was the last album of theirs that
Wax Trax! released. It was a major success
and helped cement FLA's name in industrial music lore. It also helped the
Third Mind record label do a worldwide deal with
Roadrunner
Records whereupon FLA's next couple of albums would be distributed/released through them. And during the 90s they also reissued various albums through
Roadrunner
Records including licensing material to other labels in smaller territories around the world.
Collectors should look out for original editions on
Wax Trax! (USA) and
Third Mind (Europe) plus the usual
American test pressing . Reissues came through
Third Mind (Europe - 1992+1996),
Wax
Trax!/TVT (USA - 1993) and
Roadrunner (Europe - 2007). The album was licensed by
Roadrunner for release in
Poland and
Russia on cassette in the mid-nineties!
BONUS
FLA released a lot of early material before their big hitting albums
Gashed Senses And Crossfire and
Caustic Grip. A lot of this material is now ~30 years old with the actual 30th anniversary of
Disorder coming up in May 2018!
Nerve War and
Total Terror were pretty much reissued as
Total Terror 1986 Part I and
Total Terror 1986\87 Part II in 1993 and finally as
Complete Total Terror in 2004.
Corrosion and
Disorder were pretty much reissued as
Corroded Disorder in 1995.
Finally, the original
Live album was released in 1989 but only on vinyl, only in the UK/Europe and only in limited quantities. It's never been reissued - find one if you can…
