The Young Gods - The Young Gods

The Young Gods were formed in 1985, in Switzerland, taking their name from a Swans' single released the previous year in 1984. They quickly became popular in the industrial noise scene often using samplers in place of guitars and/or drums. Their first, self-titled, album The Young Gods was originally released in April 1987 but Wax Trax! Records didn't release it in the USA until 1990. It was released in various countries on various labels including Swans' (shhhh! not Swans) label Product Inc. which was related to Mute Records (UK)! The Young Gods themselves reissued it as a deluxe edition in November 2012. Most original editions from various countries are now collector's items.
